Let's see - "The Tempest". All of our performances went absolutely wonderfully, and I'm sorry it's over. It was very exciting that our final performance actually took place in a professional theatre rather than a school auditorium. The local papers gave us rave reviews. Of course, there's more to a play than just performances, and I'm surely I'll look fondly back on all the things the audiencen never saw - Milanese lords in period costumes disco dancing on the stage, the infamous adventures of my huge peacock tale (OK, I was a pretty strange goddess), the wonderful fencing bouts with prop swords. Oh, fantastic.
I came up with "The Tempest in Eleventy-One Words", in which I basically boiled down everything the characters say to their essence. Let's see if I can write it from memory...
PROSPERO: You shall be wracked with cramps! Why, there's my dainty Ariel. I'll break my staff.
ARIEL: I'm quick and do cool things. Don't I do a good job?
GONZALO: The boatswain won't drown! Let's be nice.
ANTONIO: Gonzalo and your brother are dumb. Let's kill them. Do you understand me?
SEBASTIAN: Methinks I do.
ALONZO: Alas! My son is dead! I shall die of sorrow.
FERDIAND: Alas! My father is dead! I shall die of sorrow. Wait - this girl's really pretty. I guess I won't.
MIRANDA: O brave new world!
CALIBAN: Curses! Let's kill Prospero now!
STEPHANO: Yes, let's do it right now, but not yet. Sack is good.
TRINCULO: What a ridiculous monster.
SPIRITS: Lalala.
SHAKESPEARE: I'm a genius.
